Maria T. Arsuaga, “Maritere”, is an Associate at the Miami office of Charles A. Ross and Associates, LLC.
Maritere graduated from Oberlin College in Ohio with a B.A. in French and Government. During her undergraduate studies, she studied one year in Montpellier, France. After graduating from Oberlin College, Maritere worked for three years as an elementary bilingual school teacher in Washington Heights, New York, through the program Teach For America.
In 1997, Maritere obtained a J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico. After graduating from law school, Maritere joined the Federal Public Defender’s Ofiice in Puerto Rico as an Assistant Federal Defender. During her seven year tenure at the FPD office, Maritere had the opportunity of handling numerous jury trials to verdict. She handled cases ranging from immigration related offenses to narcotic conspiracies, carjackings, firearm and sex offenses.
Maritere is admitted to practice law in Puerto Rico and in Florida, as well as the U.S. District Court for Puerto Rico. She is a member of the Puerto Rico Bar Association and the Miami Dade County Bar Association. Maritere is fluent in English and Spanish and conversant in French.
