Dorea Silverman

Dorea Silverman is a graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was an editor of the Cardozo Law Review.  Dorea gained significant practical experience in criminal law through her participation in Cardozo’s competitive and highly regarded Criminal Defense and Criminal Appeals Clinics. Begun by Professors Barry Scheck and Lawrence Vogelman, the Criminal Defense Clinic has produced some of the top criminal defense attorneys in the country.  As a student lawyer, Dorea successfully represented various clients and obtained dismissals in several cases.  Dorea also completed a two-semester internship with the Criminal Defense Division of The Legal Aid Society.

Prior to joining our firm, Dorea was an associate in the Criminal Division of a prominent New York firm, where she worked on a wide variety of state and federal criminal matters, including narcotics conspiracy, grand larceny, violent crimes, and sex offenses.  Dorea achieved favorable outcomes — including dismissals — for clients in numerous cases.

Dorea is admitted to practice in New York State and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  She is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the New York County Lawyers Association, and the Federal Bar Council.
